December 28, 2009. I woke up early (biological clock) and decided to finally test my Java skills and install the Netbeans IDE. One of the many projects that I'm supposed to do is to simulate how memory allocations work, so that includes animation and multithreading. So anyway, I painstakingly waited for the download to finish the previous day, and that's one of the many things that can make me grumpy. I can't do multitasking (blogging while downloading) because the laptop became terribly slow. So when the installer didn't install at all (only configures the installation and after that, nothing happens), you can just imagine my anger and frustration. I can sometimes be a little too unreasonable when my mood worsens.

I knew I had little time to do all of my projects, but because of what happened, I decided to do nothing on that day. Pretty good a student, huh? That's what I usually do, just to let off some steam (excuses, excuses :P).

So I decided to do another project. Something that's important to me. It is where I will test all my blogging (Oops! The word slipped. ) knowledge and finally put up something that's respectable. I do know that Hit-or-Miss isn't a great blog at all. But I have to also remind myself that this is just my first blog, where I get to output and test what I've learned from all the articles I read on the net.

I wasn't supposed to make a post today (I forced myself to have a day off, Java is killing me), but hell, this one's important!

Okay. Maybe you have already read about this or have seen it on tv. It happened right after Christmas day. And in fact, there's already an article about it in Abante-Tonite (note: in Filipino language). But I have to blog about it.

"Hindi nila kami kilala! Sabihin mo nga sa kanila kung sino ako!" (They don't know us! Tell them who we are!) A**holes. That statement really ticks me off. We have encountered this statement, not long ago. And my father's face was red with anger. I know the feeling quite well.

So if politicians have a problem with you (say, a little misunderstanding), and if you don't make way for them, they'll beat you up until you bleed. This is what happened to Bambee Dela Paz's 56 year old dad and 14 year old brother. After a small and stupid misunderstanding at Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City, Mayor Nasser Pangandaman, Jr., Mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur, and company beat her father and younger brother to pulp. This mayor is son of Secretary Nasser Pangandaman of the Department of Agrarian Reform. Ah, a family of politicians!

The little misunderstanding was caused by these politicians' golf etiquette ignorance. See, I really have no idea about golf, but as I read through, I can understand that it was their fault, and not by Bambee's family. A heated discussion eventually emerged, and finally, Mr. Dela Paz went down. Bambee and her brother rushed to the scene, trying to break the fight off.

So have you written your new year resolutions yet? It is quite difficult if you have a long list, but determination will make you hold on to them, so do not fret. So how do you figure out what you write in your list? You simply have to observe yourself and the people around you.

I have a lot of relatives who contact us so they can borrow money. My dad, a caring and compassionate person that he is, would always give them even though we are also in a crisis ourselves. He is setting a great example to all of us, and without a doubt I will surely follow his steps. But sometimes, it just gets into my nerves when our relatives seem to be borrowing money constantly. It is as if we have carried the burden to supply them with money. Isn't that supposed to be their job? I just really wonder what they do with all their free time in the province. I simply cannot fathom the idea to always borrow money from others!

Okay, I am putting my other relatives in a bad light, but my point is, we should all try to be responsible and not let others worry about our own finances.

In that case, one of my relatives' new year resolution should be about managing their expenses well or to be more responsible in finding ways on how to make ends meet. Along with other necessary resolutions, this one probably is on most people's lists.

Our dog Cocoy died last December 21, 2008. It was really unexpected, and the pain is unbearable. I was never into dogs until he came, and losing him was never a pleasant surprise.

I went to his corner of the house to feed him food. Unexpectedly, he wasn't all excited when he saw his food. In fact, he was avoiding it. I'm not sure whether he found the food smelly or not, but the point is, he wasn't eating at all.

So I decided to cheer him up. Whenever I was with him, I always conversed with him as if he was really a human person. I kept on asking why he wasn't interested with the food, and kept on offering it to him. But all he did was go from one place to another, never showing an interest of eating.

I finally saw that he was weakening. But he wasn't that weak. Instead, his actions were all weird. Usually, he's extremely hyper active. He would bite me or other stuff. But he just kept on lying down, looking at me from time to time.

I then got tired, and decided to let him be. When I opened the door, to my surprise, he didn't come running towards it. He just looked at me, and stayed exactly where he was. I then got confused, and a bit shaky inside. Something is extremely wrong.

Last Saturday, I was able to join the Otaku Fest 2.0: The Saga Continues. It was the highlight of that day, considering the fact that we did go to school to learn Flash and not for Otaku Fest. :D

Anyway, as much as I wanted to enjoy Otaku Fest, my laptop and sleepiness hindered me to do so. But maybe, just maybe, me and my friends will be joining Cosplay next year. :)

Aside from the Cosplay, I was really rooting for the Film Showing. You see, I am not a fan of anime, but somehow, I enjoy anime films. Earlier this year, during Otaku Fest 1.0, I watched The Girl Who Leaped Thru Time. It made me realize that anime films are great, and made me anticipate for the next installment of Otaku Fest.

I know that Asians are very fond of communicating with their loved ones. No distance can hinder them from talking with each other.

There are a lot of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) now, and instead of purchasing mobile kits to bridge the gaps between them and their loved ones in the Philippines, they might as well chat in an Asian chat room, don't you think?
